Today actor Idris Elba made a post to his Twitter account confirming that he will be voicing Knuckles in the upcoming sequal to the hit 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog movie. In the tweet Elba references the lyrics from “Unknown from M.E.“, Knuckles theme song from 1998’s Sonic Adventure which released on the Sega Dreamcast console, and has since seen several re-releases. The lyrics have become one of the many memes surrounding the character.
The filming for the movie has been taking place over the year, and the official release is scheduled for April 8, 2022. Tails, is also set to appear in the film, though casting for the voice of tails has not yet been confirmed.
