Earlier today the Kickstarter Campaign for Earthworm Jim 2: Fight the Fish went live. This comic book is the sequel to the crowdfunding mega-hit Earthworm Jim: Launch the Cow which told the origins of Earthworm Jim and the super suit that gave him the power to save the galaxy.
This sequel picks up where Launch the Cow ends. In the story Bob The Killer Goldfish and his henchman, #4, kidnap Princess What’s Her Name and take her to the Planeta de Agua, it is up to Jim and company to mount a rescue. This story will tell the origins of the “Down the Tubes” levels from the classic Earthworm Jim video games on Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis consoles. The books will be hardcover, with at minimum 160 full color pages featuring the richly-detailed and wacky artwork, and story from the creator of Earthworm Jim, Doug TenNapel.
As of this writing the campaign if off to a roaring start with over $60k raised and nearly 1000 backers, and 49 days left in the campaign. As stretch goals are achieved more features and content will be added to the book. Fight the Fish is expected to be delivered in February of 2021. It will be a good way to prepare for the Earthworm Jim 4 video game, which is in development for the upcoming Intellivision Amico video game console.
