On October 4th The Pokémon company held a 24-hout stream to reveal new information on the upcoming games Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. The stream was set up to mirror a real-world nature observational experiment set in Glimwood Tangle, a location from the games.
During the steam watchers caught glimpses of several Pokémon that live in the forest, including glimpse at a brand-new Pokémon. By the end of the stream viewers got a clear view of the Pokémon which a appeared to be a Galarian Ponyta. This was confirmed a day after the stream ended when the Pokémon website officially revealed Galarian Ponyta.

Ability: Run Away / Pastel Veil
It is said that after being exposed to the overflowing life energy in the forest the Ponyta of Galar changed over generations. Galarian Pontya is a Psychic-type and uses its horn to absorb life energy which is stored in its mane. The mane becomes more vibrant, and even sparkles, if it is in an area with a lot of energy.
It has the new ability Pastel Veil; this ability prevents opponents from poising Galarian Ponyta and its allies in battle. If Galarian Ponyta is switch in and it’s partner is already poisoned it will be cured instantly.
This new Pokémon will be exclusive to Pokemon Shield Version as a counterpart to the Pokemon Sword exclusive Sirfetch’d. With the new games just a little over a month away there may yet be a few more new Pokémon reveals in the coming weeks. Pokemon Sword and Shield versions release on November 15th for Nintendo Switch
